If we could move Thursday's weather to Friday!

It is pretty nice right now on Thursday afternoon.  Good Happy Hour weather for this time of year but Friday doesn't look as good.

Looks like we may be done for the year with pool side Happy Hours.  Rain moving in Friday is what the report says (40% chance at 5:00 and mid 60's) and getting cooler as the day goes along.

I went swimming Tuesday with out having turned on the heater.  Swam some laps but it was cooool.  Might yet get in today after mowing but it's around 67 or 68 water temp.  Won't be in there long.

You can check back if Friday fools us and it's nice around 5:00.  I'll post if we change our mind and have one last HH.   If we get an Indian Summer Friday soon in October check back to make sure we are done.

OK. Here's the plan.

It has been chilly, wet and overcast and I haven't been doing regular maintenance around the pool area.  

This Friday 9/28/12 we will not be having Happy Hour pool side.

Next week is supposed to brighten and warm into the low to mid seventies Tuesday through maybe Friday.  Who really knows that far out?

So first I'll get things cleaned up around the pool and the happy pool house.  Then I'll see if I can fire up the heater for the first time this year.  I'll post the results of my efforts here.  Some of you might think it would be fun to swim in October.  I know I do.  If I do get the heater going, I'll let you know here as soon as I do. You might want to take advantage of a swim through the week.

We still might have one last poolside Happy Hour even if I can't get the heater up and running.  I'll let you know as soon as the weather prediction firms up.

I've been wanting to grill up some ribs all year.  Looks like Friday October 5th might be my last chance of the year to do so poolside.

We enjoyed a very nice night and good company

It started cooling down not long after 5 and became quite pleasant.

We had a diverse menu available.  I provided hot dogs and cincy chili sauce.  Beth made a summer angel hair spicy pasta dish good cold or hot.  It became an instant favorite with me!  Chris provided oriental orange chicken, Barry and Kathy served pizza and for desert we had brownies compliments of Nancy and Don.  There may well have been more but that was all I was able to handle.

There were about a dozen of us so we got to talk to talk to each other a little more than with a bigger turnout.  I liked Happy Hour very much.

Next chance for Happy Hour pool side is Friday September 21.  Check back as the date gets closer.

BTW, we had one number in the Mega Millions and one in PowerBall.  Our best showing in quite some time!

Friday, August 31 looks like a hot one!

In the 90's they say.

We agree it's a good Friday have Happy Hour.

Stop by some time after 5:00.  Take a swim and have a bite to eat and a cold one.

They're calling for clearing Friday afternoon

and mid to upper 70's.  Sounds pretty good for a Friday poolside Happy Hour.  Check back as we get closer.

Right now Friday is the only bad spot for storms!

It's early yet.  If at all possible we will be have something poolside.

Several of Beth's school friends will be in town and we want to see them!

55 % chance of storms at 5:00 PM

Geeez!  We don't want to cancel for this evening but we are canceling Happy Hour for July 27.  We just don't want to take the chance with lots of friends showing up to hear Lydia and Jeff play and then getting smacked with a big storm.


We are going to try and reschedule Lydia for September. 
She is is playing at the Bogie Inn Sunday afternoon.  You can catch her there.

Weathered the storm yesterday just fine

There's a shaky forecast for today and this evening.  We're taking a wait and see attitude right now.  I'll be checking the hour to hour forecast around noon and into the afternoon.

We don't want to get folk over here and then have a big storm BUT we do want to get together, hear Lydia and Jeff and enjoy some City BBQ!

Here's hoping for fair weather this afternoon and a hot time tonight.

The forecast for  Happy Hour show time is for a slight chance of thunder storms.  Good enough for now to say On with the show!
We're hoping for no fallen tree damage or power outage from the storm and BIG wind predicted for this afternoon.  I'll post an update Friday (if we have power!)

Lydia Brownfield will be playing!

Lydia Brownfield will be playing July 27, weather permitting.  We don't have too bad of a forecast for Friday as of now.  50 / 50 chance of rain early Friday dropping off to 30% around Happy Hour.
Some news about Lydia's visit. She will be accompanied by Jeff Dalrymple, her musical partner! They should start playing a little after 6:00.
We have decided to provide City BBQ as the main course.  Please bring a side dish if you can.

We're expecting more folks than usual.  We'll have extra parking behind Low Key House.  Don't park on the concrete in front of the basketball hoop.  We'll use that space as access for the back yard of Low Key House (80 Terrace Ave)

Rick Grove contacted me with a suggestion about a Stein Reunion.  We're targeting Happy Hour for August 24 at Bugzy's, aka  The Stein, 388 W Main.  Details to follow on this very cool addition of Happy Hour.

Sounds like the weather is going to cooperate.  Maybe some scattered morning rain but mid 80's and some sun during HH.  Waters comfortable for a swim if you like.

We have some chicken marinating.  It will be going on the grill for BBQing.

The forecast is for sunny and 72.  Sounds great.  We are now ON for Happy Hour.  Come on over if you can.

BTW, Power ball was a bust.  No numbers hit.  Zero.  We'll get them this week!

Nice start to the Happy Hour season!

The decision wasn't made until late to chance the weather and have the season's first Happy Hour.

It was a pretty good turn out and a nice evening until the storm hit a little before dark.

Don sponsored cake & we all celebrated Chris's birthday.
The scene stealer of the party arrived in a stroller escorted by mom Amie.  We all through Ivy enjoyed Happy Hour and the attention received.
Peggy and Lynn were first timers.  Turns out Lynn and I went to NHS at the same time.  Nancy and Don brought that great hamburger / baked bean casserole + Sloppy Joe's and snacks were served.  Alan and Bonnie were in attendance.  Barry made a visit as the storm was rolling and things were winding down.
Loki came out after a while and seemed to get used to the hubbub of HH again.
