Low key happy hour enjoyed by those in attendance.

My sister Darlene and her husband David started us out early. They brought lunch by and we got to shoot the breeze for a few hours. They were able to do a side visit from their main trip to Marysville. They passed along an invite from David's father for us to join them for a Marysville fish fry over the weekend. Unfortunately we had to pass on that due to other commitments.

Tom and Fran came by for HH and shared the news that Lauren passed her boards. Congratulations Dr. Lauren! Brien and Terry Moore and Alan and Bonnie Montgomery visited. Of course Isabel stopped over. She brought Nancy and Don with her. Gabby also stopped by on her way home from work. Nancy brought some killer desert. Beth made some BBQ pulled pork that hit the spot.

There were lots of local personal events going on this weekend so the 8:00 ish end to happy hour was just right.

Many of us including Bonnie and Alan, Kathy and Barry, Gabby and Beth and I attended Amie and Roger's wedding. We got them married Saturday afternoon. IT WAS A GREAT WEDDING AND FUN TIME! Have a wonderful trip to Ireland!
A few of us then stopped at a big reunion party and Don and Chris's farm. There were dozens and dozens in attendance. Lots of good folks, food and fun. Rick (and Margo I assume) were the pig roaster's extraordinaire for the event. Good job guys!

Sunday brought us back to poolside for a Frost side of the family get together. The age range was from less than 1 years old to 90 +. There were over twenty guests. In between showers we got the the burgers and brats cooked and there were tons of good side dished. Between the showers we got lots of swimming in and some boccie to.

I checked the PowerBall numbers this morning. Breaking with tradition, I purchased two tickets thinking that would bring us some luck ... naw. We were 5-24-28-50-53 & 34 + 10-14-19-21-22 & 13. PewerBall said 13-30-32-38-57 & 25. We'll get em next time.

Stop on over Friday June 25.

We've had a few swimmers already. My sister and brother-in law from the UP came by for lunch and a couple cold ones. So happy hour is off to a good start.

Beth has a pork tenderloin cooking up right now for I think pulled pork sammies. I'm heading out to get a few extra cold ones and a PowerBall chance.

We hope you'll be here.

Amie Chapman is marrying Roger Webb Saturday. Congratulations you guys!

A good, early starting, early ending Happ Hour!

Rick and Margo did not bring their friends but they did bring a bonus PowerBall ticket for us to share in. Unfortunately their picks 2-7-12-17-34 & 36 were no better than ours .. dang.
We did have a few first time for the year attendees including Mary Beth and VO. It was sure good to see them. Amanda brought Lilly (I think this was Lilly's first Friday night of the year but I've been wrong before) and Nathan. He did a fine job entertaining Lilly and Isabel giving raft rides in the pool. Eric came for a 1st season visit too. Dawn and Isabel brought Dennis for his 1st of the year.
Others in attendance included Tim C, Barry and Kathy, Alan and Bonnie, Brien (I was wondering where he was hiding) and Terry, Gabby who took advantage of a 1/2 day off and came early, Don and Nancy were here too. I think that about covers it.
Isable put on quite a display in the ring swing on a string game. At just over 4 years old she had what I think is the "Youngest Ringer" honor. If you doubt the still pictures, I posted a little video at the end. Here's some pictures of some of the goings on.

Weather was so good I forgot to post a YES! for Happy Hour for 6-18

It's almost 4:00 and folks have been here for a couple hours already! The water's great. I'm getting in again in a couple minutes.

Rick and Margo are bringing some friends tonight who have not been here before. Looks like Amie can't make it due to something she has going on next weekend. and last for this post ... here's the PowerBall numbers for Saturdays drawing. 20 - 28 - 40 - 42 - 43 & 09. Good luck to all welcome guests at tonight's HH.

The numbers drawn were: 9/12/13/35/38 & 30. We'll try again next time.

Here's a few pics that prove something went on.

Great turnout and an even better time!

Weather channel gets it all wrong ... again.

What a nice Friday for Happy Hour. We started early and stayed late.

Wes got set up soon after our afternoon drenching. The storms seemed to go north and south of us the rest of the day and night so Wes played on.

As best I can remember we had about 28 attendees. So there will be at least 30 of us splitting the PowerBall jackpot if these lucky numbers pop up tonight. The numbers are 10 - 24 - 48 - 53 - 54 & 11. I wanted to get the numbers out there early.

I'll post more later with a few pictures.

Let's do it!

Sound like the weather is going to be 30% chance of isolated thunder storms Friday! Sound familiar? We dodged a bullet at Happy Hour last Friday it appears. We'll be coming up with some new "bad weather guidelines" to guard against weather related danger.

OK now for the fun part. Wes is going to set up early. We're going to provide a few Anheuser-Busch products for your sensible enjoyment. Beth is also cooking up some great dish for our culinary enjoyment.

I'll pick up a PowerBall chance so that we all can share in many millions of bucks.

The water should be plenty warm. Feel free to bring the kids but remember, you have to watch them.

So let's see:
Food ~ check
Beverage ~ check
Entertainment ~ check
Potential riches ~ check
Now all we need is you.

We hope to see you June 11!

Good time at Happy Hour with lots going on

The early afternoon forecast gave me the wrong impression. 30% chance increasing up to 50% should have said to 100% +. Man it rained & thundered and there was lightning for at least 1/2 the duration of HH.
The kids barley got to swim and it was "Out you go". We'd think it had passed, they'd be ready to get back in and Rumble Rumble CRACK. They were quite patient to no avail.
The good news is there were lots of folks and plenty of good food.
Dawn, Isabel, Nancy and Don were the first to arrive. (Haven't seen Brien in weeks?) Dawn agreed to give Loki a haircut. I was not involved so I have no first hand report but the results were great. He seemed a bit shy to come out but could not stand all the fun going on without him. He made an appearance, got his picture taken and laid low once the thunder started.
Gabby made it as did Amie. Tom Scono said he really enjoyed Beth's pasta dish, high praise indeed. Michelle, Reece and Marlyn were closely followed by Marty. Barry and Kathy Hupp arrived. Barry brought some s l o w cooked ribs that were done to perfection. Thanks Barry!
Somebody brought some good looking brownies that I can not believe I didn't get a taste of.
Nancy's cousin Judy came by. She lives in Nashville Tenn. I think she enjoyed her visit.
Todd and Beth made there first appearance of the 2010 HH season. So good to see them. They brought some chicken nugget delicious seasoned things that I enjoyed quite a bit.
After the electric went out lack of music, fans and lights etc. brought a fairly quick end to this addition of Happy Hour.
I hope a good time was had by all.
I HOPE we have better weather for Wes Raynor's visit next Friday. The Weather channel says, well right now I don't care what it says.
Here are some pictures Beth and I took.

Isabel was working the crowd

The girls are trying to ride the storm out and get another swin in but it was not to be.

Before the storm part two, there was some dancing going on ... ye ha!

Nancy, Judy and Don

This is from the previous Sunday. Here Beth catches action hero Barry as he surfs the wild waves.

and the lucky numbers are ...

For those of you who braved the 30% and increasing chance ... deluge, here's what to hope for in tonight's drawing. 22 29 33 49 50 and 34. I coughed up an extra buck so we are Power Players too.

FYI again, there is a link on this blog to the Power Ball numbers.

Perhaps next Happy Hour we can gather in the south Pacific?

I'm up for Happy Hour June 4. How about you?

We'll be poolside if you care to join us starting around 5:00. There's about a 30% then increasing % as the evening goes along. That's good enough odds for us. We hope to see you there.

Oh yes ... Beth made up a fine Italian pasta dish. It's a new recipe. I always love that. She makes up a double batch and test drives it on me a day or two before. Right now she's batting 1000.

PowerBall Update

I was going to post the numbers last Happy Hour before the drawing as some have suggested might be a good idea. I misplaced it before I could. I found it Sunday. We had 1 number.

I'm trying harder this week. I'm just sure we're in for a big bonanza some day!

I'll try real hard to post them here before Saturdays June 5 draw time. To recap, welcome guests who attend the June 4 Happy Hour, if there is one, split the pot if it's of any decent amount. If it's a small amount, it will be reinvested the following HH if I remember to pick up a ticket(s) or at least I'll reinvested the winnings the next HH I remember to.

I've posted a PowerBall link at the bottom on the right hand side of the page.
