Friday September 26 may have been the last Happy Hour poolside!

This coming Thursday looks to be a sweet summer like day (sunny & 81!) but the winds are to pick up and the temp are to cool down with a high of 70 Friday with clouds and a 80% chance of rain. So says the Weather Channel.
We still have a couple days of swimming weather if you care to drop by for a dip.  Water was 74-75 this morning (78 last night).  Might pop the heater on one more time to warm it up for Thursday.

We will be planning on closing the pool before too long.  If perchance Friday October 10 warms up to a 70+ with sun, you might check back to see if we try to squeeze out one more HH.

We, unlike Root Romei, did not hit for a Million bucks on powerball.  We did have 2 numbers which may be a first.  We'll get em next year!

Here are couple picks taken last Friday to hold us over until spring.

We are so glad you were able to come over all the Fridays that you could, we had a blast!  A big thanks for all who were able to attend this year!

Wednesday I will make the first of many seasonal proclamations regarding the re-opening of the pool.  I'll say "After next month, the pool will be opening in only 5 months!"

Geez Louise!

An even better weather forecast for this
Friday 9-26-14, than last!

We say let's take advantage of some of the best weather of the year!

As long as the forecast stays warm and dry, we are ON FOR HAPPY HOUR!

Beth is planning chili and dogs for our last Happy Hour of September.  I'm working on something special for Happy Hour too and FYI, I'm thinking about keeping the pool warm enough for a swim the next few days.

We'd love to see you welcome guests* poolside this Friday!

Here are some picks from last Friday to hold you till next.

*To review, any "welcome guest"** who attends that Friday happy hour in which we win a Powerball jackpot on the next drawing, shares equally in the pot.

** We have the caveat "welcome guest" to be able to not include those who are not intended to be included such as the pizza guy, the dude that cuts across the back yard, errant skydivers, wandering neighbors and the like. Minors under the age of 18 do not qualify for a share unless agreed upon by Kim and Beth. We are the final authority as defining "welcome guests".  This statement of policy supersedes any previous statement of policy

Weather channel says 75 and sun for Friday September 19.

We had better take advantage while we can!

Sloppy Joe's and chicken sandwiches are on the menu.

It might be our last Happy Hour of the pool season (*and our last crack at a group Powerball payoff) so come on over.

Check back here to verify if the forecast changes for the worse later in the week.

We hope to see you poolside!

Here is one from the archives for you.

We had a nice turnout for Happy Hour 9-5!

Lots of good folks, food and fun.  Here are a few daylight pictures to prove it.  There were over 20 attendees.  Don't quit you jobs.  We did not hit PowerBall or Mega Millions.

Rick and Margo's excuse for not attending Happy Hour!  Sweet!

Friday September 5 looking good for Happy Hour

Likely to be hot with no rain until later in the evening.  For now now we are ON for Happy Hour.  As always, if the weather becomes iffy, check back here closer to 5:00 PM Friday to verify.

We had a few first timers with Tim Cocanour and his lovely sister Christy  Cocanour Williams.  We hope to see them back before this years final poolside Happy Hour.  Sometimes Happy Hours stretch into October sometimes not.

No luck on the double chances for PowerBall and Mega.  2 chances on each ticket and no luck with one number the best we could do.  But good for me and thanks to Ellen with some scratch-offs she gave me for my birthday.  I found the last 2 cards and hit one for $4 and one for $20!

I thought last Fridays BBQ chicken was marvelous along with the other goodies brought by guests.  This week Beth is cooking up "Roast beef with peppers.  As a sandwich or go naked. (without the bun)"  Nancy says she is making something special too.

Here is some advanced notice.  Beth and I will not be having Happy Hour poolside next Friday September 12.  We are hoping for good weather September 19 and beyond so that we can squeeze in a few more HH before it starts cooling down.

Since I didn't take any photos last week to post this week, I'll post a blast from past Happy Hours.  This one is from Happy Hour June 10, 2011.

Hope to see you Friday September 5 poolside!

Yikes! Beth is not feeling well! We don't want to cancel Happy Hour pool side

but with the forecast and Beth feeling bad we have decided to cancel now to give as much notice as possible.

As I said in my last post, if we have to cancel due to weather, perhaps Allison's or the Beverage Source would be a spot to meet.

I'll try to be there.

Hey NHS class of 1974. If you are in town and looking for something to do on Friday August 22, stop by for Happy Hour!

The weather this week has been hard to predict.  Since this is a fair weather event, you may want to check back to see if we are on for Happy Hour as the time gets close.  I'll post it here if we have to cancel.  Maybe the Beverage Source (old L&K at the Dug-way) or Allison (old Damons) would make for a bad weather rendezvous, yes?

We had a nice turnout last week.  I'd guess close to 20 attendees stopped by. I was a surprise to see Liam being our farthest traveler coming in from California. Krista Campbell was in from Pittsburgh, Ginger and Jim from Westerville.  It was also a delightful surprise to have Nick, Katie and young Carson Snider here for a visit.  That Carson was styling and smiling the whole time he was here.  Michele and Reece stopped in for a while.  Reece has been busy all summer and we hadn't had much of a chance to say hello.  It will be exciting in the neighborhood before too long when she gets her drivers permit!  Gramps Snider and his child bride Chris, Barry and Kathy Hupp, Brien and Terry Moore, Don and Nancy Clary, Tom Scono and last but far from least Alan Montgomery were all in attendance.  Collectively the entire crew enjoyed about 3 dozen Cincinnati chili-dogs.  Those remaining were polished off by me over the next couple days.  Man I love those Cincy dogs!  There were lots of other delicious sides and deserts brought by many.  Thanks to all for being here to shoot the breeze.

We did hit the Powerball Drawing!  Just the red ball so no payout but it will pay for this weeks ticket.  Powerball info at the bottom of the page.

Beth and others took a few pics so here they are for your enjoyment.

Carson's hat pictured here on the table, really set off his style.  As the night went along, several other attendees took the opportunity to try it on.  The social media ban during Happy Hour guarantees prohibit any pictures from being displayed here.

Happy Hour Friday August 15!

It looks to be a marvelous afternoon!
Cincinnati style chili dogs and dogs on the grill are on the menu tonight.
The pool should be up to at least 80 by early afternoon.
I'll be purchasing a Powerball ticket so you better stop by.  You wouldn't want to miss out on a share of the loot!*

Happy Hour this Friday July 25, weather permitting!

Friday day the pool will be closed until about 4:00.
FYI pool closed Sunday for family day.

Come by any time 4ish and after.  I think I'll be grilling up a mess of ribs for us to enjoy.

Hope to see you Friday!

That's what I'm talking about ...

That was a nice little Happy Hour we had

It seemed like everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather.  The pool was about as warm as I ever remember, somewhere around 87!  We had several swimmers. The grilled burgers and chicken were good, the brats were too good.  Thanks to Beth for getting them at Al's Meat Market.  Highly recommended!

We hit a number or two on one of the lottery tickets.  We won a few bucks which will be reinvested next Happy Hour.

Here are a few pictures for you.
