The weather was fine and so was the crowd

What were we worried about?  No rain until all had departed.  Warm enough to have swimmers.  Plenty of good food.  Wonderful night!

All went well until the end.  A daring rescue had to be performed!  More about the harrowing events later!

The best I can recollect there were 26 of us at Huppy Hour.  Notably Barry, Kathy, Amanda and Lilly came in from out of town for the festivities.  They invited first time attendees Bob and Amy.  Todd invited another first timer Jeff Graham. Big surprise seeing Jeff.  We hope all the first times come back for future Happy Hours!

There was plenty to eat.  The beef roast and peppers was marvelous.  Nancy's baked beans are always a big hit.  Peggy's Amish veggie dish was very different and very good!  Terry made spicy chicken dip with enhanced crackers!!!  Yea Terry!   Michelle and Eric provided perfect melon yum!  We were glad they showed up to counter balance our trivia rivals Dave and Denise of the powerful Publican, a Wednesday night trivia consortium.

We had 2 MegaMillions tickets due to hitting last Happy Hour for $1.  We reinvested as is usual.  The extra ticket was no help.  We got ONE number!?!  You would think the law of averages would have caught up with us over the years of Happy Hour ticket.  You would think we would hit for $10 sometime but nooo!  Well maybe my crying with help with tonight's PowerBall numbers.  I'll keep you posted if ... when we hit!

I'll post a few pictures from last night.

Grayson guarding the gate

Oh yes, about the incident and rescue.  Beth Karen and Kim were just wrapping things up.  Chatting and taking food and dirty dishes inside.  We were at the deep end when we heard a loud SPLASH!  Dog in the pool!  Dog in the pool!  Karen sprang into action.  She hurled herself down the pool steps with no regard for her own personal safety.  She secured Banjo in some sort of exotic lifesaving hold and got him back on deck.  Resuscitation was not needed!  All was well again.  Disaster narrowly averted!
Sorry.  no pictures or video are currently available
of this heroic action.
BTW, some have speculated that Banjo fell in because he was "lifting his leg" on the banana plant and he lost his balance.  Said banana plant leaf has been sent to the lab for testing.  Banjo remains mum about the entire incident.

Here are a few paddling and vacation pictures because I can.

Huppy Hour planned for Friday July 29!

What the hey!  The weather forecast is very sketchy for Friday afternoon but we are going to give it a try.  Barry and Kathy Hupp are in town and that is all we need to give it a shot.  So Huppy Hour is on!  Even if its drizzling a bit we'll try it for a while.

Beth is making an aromatic roast and peppers combo that I really like so we got that going for us!

Check back if it looks too bad as we may make a prudent update and flee to the Beverage Source.

No pool side Happy Hour July 22 but!

We are on a hot streak.  We hit the lottery again last week.  3rd week in a row I think for $1!  We'll reinvest for the next Happy Hour make us all rich scheme.

Had a great HH last Friday with some new neighbors Graham and Ashland coming over for a visit fresh from New Zealand.  Ted and Christin made a first appearance before the Great Montana Adventure.  Good luck out west!   It was very good to see Amie.  She provided a cart for Banjo races!  Andrea made a first appearance and played well with the gang.  We hope she comes back to many more.  Brien and Terry emerged!!! We are taking their pictures off the milk cartons.

Going to try and lure Amie, Ivy and Roger to Happy Hour.

The advanced forecast looks fine for Friday but wet for Thursday.  We will be on for Happy Hour if there are no changes for the bad.

Amie ... we will be serving Cincy Chili Dogs!

FYI, Looks like no HH on July 22.

I'll go out and buy the Mega-millions ticket!

Not too shabby!  Reported this morning ~ 15% chance of rain at 5:00 PM.

We are thinking yes for Happy Hour.

Hot and humid conditions are ever changing so check back here if the weather appear iffy.

Keeping an eye on the sky.

Weather channel says warm and 50% chance of rain at 5:00 PM Friday.  Drops to 25 and 30 % for a couple 3 hours.  Let us see how things shape up before we say no to Friday Happy Hour.  Besides, the Mega Millions is projected to be up to the $540 million range.  Wouldn't it be fun to split that jack pot!
Still playing it by ear.  Check back as time draws near!

A NICE TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!

We hit the jack pot!  On deviled eggs that is.  Dozens of them and we finished them off!  The big tub of BBQ ribs was dwindled down pretty well.  All the other side dishes.  Man what a fine feast!

We had about 27 visitors for Happy Hour.  I'll check the lottery tickets this weekend and let you know if you have to go back to work Tuesday.

Carry on and see you next time!
